Zaka Ashraf can become the new chairman of PCB, Najam Sethi's chair is almost certain to be snatched

The Pakistan Cricket Board, (PCB) may once again elect former president Zaka Ashraf for the post. He once again met Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Ehsanur Rahman Mazari last Friday. After this, Mazari made it clear on Saturday that the tenure of the PCB Management Committee would not be extended further. He said after the second meeting with Zaka Ashraf that the term of the PCB Management Committee would end on June 20 and no further extension would be given. No detailed summary will be sent by the Ministry to the PM. The minister once again stressed that he would abide by the demands of the party at all costs.

He said that I will only follow the orders of the top leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party. With Zaka Ashraf's name listed as the incoming PCB chairman, I have already sent the summary to the Prime Minister. It is almost certain that this will cost the current chairman Najam Sethi his post. The PCB MC was once again instructed by Mazari to share all the details of the expenses incurred in the last five months. In response to two letters sent in the last two months, the minister has also taken up the matter with PCB Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer as to why the required information has not been provided to the ministry.

The coming week will be crucial in determining the future of PCB and the status of two top candidates, Najam Sethi, and Zaka Ashraf. He claimed that since he took over the control of the PCB, two letters regarding the expenditure have already been sent to the PCB. This applies to hiring, letting go of employees, and even traveling during these months. No one has replied yet.
