World population increased by 75 million in 1 year

According to the US Census Bureau, on January 1, 2024, the total population of the world will be 8.02 billion. On January 1, 2023, this figure was 7.94 billion. In November 2022, the UN estimated that the world population would reach 8 billion. It took about 11 years for the population to increase by 1 billion.

UN had said- population will reach 8 billion in November 2022 itself.
UN Secretary General Antonio Jutares attributed the population increase to scientific achievements, improvements in nutrition, health and sanitation facilities. However, according to the US Census Bureau, the world population will reach 8 billion on September 26, 2023. The US Bureau had said that their figures are different from the UN, because some countries do not have a proper system to count the birth and death rates.

The Census Bureau has feared that it will take about 14 years for the population to reach 9 billion. At the same time, it may take 16.4 more years for the population to reach 10 billion. According to the Census Bureau, the reason for the decline in the rate of population growth is the low fertility rate.

The rate of population growth decreased after Corona
At present, the youth population in the world is low, which has a direct impact on the population. Apart from this, the Corona epidemic has also had a negative impact on population growth. Due to the pandemic, the global life expectancy i.e. the average age of people decreased to 71 years in 2021.

According to Forbes, the Census Bureau said in its report that on January 1, 2024, the population of America will reach about 335.9 million. Within 1 year, an increase of about 17.59 lakh was recorded. According to the report, in January, one child will be born in America every 9 seconds. At the same time, one person will die every 9.5 seconds.

Why did the population increase rapidly even after the birth rate decreased?
According to statistics, in 1951 a woman gave birth to an average of 5 children. Now in the year 2021 this figure has come down to 2.5. The birth rate has halved in the last 70 years. So now the question arises that despite the birth rate being halved, how did the world population increase so rapidly?

In fact, birth rate tells only half the story of the population. When we look at the mortality rate, we find that now every year 7.60 people die out of 1000 people, whereas about 18 people are born every year out of 1000 people. That means the birth rate figure is more than 2 times the death rate. This is an important reason for the increase in population.

India becomes most populous country in April 2023
Earlier in April 2023, India had become the most populous country in the world. United Nations Population Fund had given this information in its report. According to this, India's population was about 30 lakh more than China's. UN has been releasing data related to world population since 1950. This was the first time since then that India's population exceeded that of China.

By 2050, 50% of the population will be in 8 countries
According to an earlier UN report in 2022, by 2050 half of the world's population will be in only 8 countries. These include Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines and Tanzania. At present, the population of 46 developed countries is growing the fastest, out of which 32 countries are in Sub-Saharan Africa.

It is estimated that by 2050, more than half of the world's population will live in this area. On the other hand, there are also 61 countries whose population will decrease between 2022 and 2050. The countries of Europe will be included in the maximum number among them.
