Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz has made the Wimbledon Championship men's singles quarterfinals and now meets America's Tommy Paul. Carlos Alcaraz registered an easy 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 win against Ugo Humbert at Center Court. This marks the ninth time Alcaraz could reach the last eight rounds of a major tournament.

The 21-year-old Alcaraz won the first two sets 6-3, 6-4 but was seen misfiring in the third set. Humbert made a brilliant comeback by winning the third set 6-1. After this, the three-time Grand Slam champion from Spain made a remarkable comeback to win 7-5.

Speaking after the match, Alcaraz said: I felt he was reading my serve and my shots so well on every point, which at that time made things quite challenging for me. But again, that's how tennis goes. In terms of the fourth set, I had played some good serves as far as I did well to save that game. In a way, then I improved my level of tennis, increased the intensity, and finally won it.

Alcaraz must face off against America's Tommy Paul to reach the semi-finals. He defeated Spain's Roberto Bautista Augut in yet another match from the men's singles category at Wimbledon. This is the first time Paul has made a Wimbledon quarterfinal appearance.
