Volcano in Indonesia: A volcanic eruption has occurred on Ruang Mountain in Indonesia. The erupted volcano on Mount Ruang is seen to be active in which explosions are taking place intermittently. The eruption of the volcano poses a threat to the lives of the people living nearby. Due to this the concern of the administration has increased. After the eruption of the volcano, a tsunami alert has also been issued here on Wednesday. Officials ordered more than 11,000 people to leave the area.

On Indonesia's Sulawesi island, a volcano has erupted in the northern region. Since the volcano erupted, there have been at least five significant explosions in the past 24 hours. After the explosion on Ruang Mountain, an ash plume thousands of feet high was visible. On Wednesday, Indonesian authorities then issued a tsunami warning.

Over 11,000 people have received orders from officials to vacate the area. The authorities have increased the level of volcanic alert to the highest after the spate of eruptions.

Indonesia closed Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, North Sulawesi, due to the volcanic eruption overnight, the transport ministry said in a statement on Thursday. The ministry said the airport will remain closed till Thursday evening and nine flights have been affected so far.

Indonesian officials issued a tsunami alert on Wednesday after an eruption at the Ruang volcano spread ash over a large area. The Indonesia Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center said the volcano, located north of Sulawesi Island, has experienced at least five major eruptions in the past 24 hours.

In 2018, the eruption of Indonesia's Anak Krakatau volcano caused a tsunami that hit the coasts of Sumatra and Java after parts of the mountain fell into the sea, killing 430 people.
