A review petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding a review of the decision to remove Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Let us tell you that the apex court had upheld the validity of the Central Government's decision to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. This matter will be heard in the Supreme Court on May 1.

Regarding Article 370 of the Constitution, which deals with Jammu and Kashmir, the Supreme Court has rendered a decision. The Supreme Court's ruling recognized the validity of the Central Government's decision to strike down Article 370 of the Constitution. The Central Government had previously nullified Article 370 of the Constitution, which dealt with Jammu and Kashmir, on August 5, 2019. To challenge this ruling, 23 petitions were submitted. which resulted in a 16-day hearing at the Supreme Court, which was concluded on September 5, 2023, with the Court delaying its decision.

On behalf of the Central Government, Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act Bill in the Rajya Sabha on 5 August 2019. In this, Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two union territories, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. It was passed in the Rajya Sabha on the same day. On 6 August 2019, this bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha and it was passed there on the same day. It got the approval of the President on 9 August 2019, after which the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was removed.
