Subhendu Adhikari reach Raj Bhavan to submit memorandum to the Governor, demanded restoration of peace in Sandeshkhali

Subhendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, and other BJP MLAs delivered a memo to Raj Bhavan today. They are requesting that Governor CV Anand Bose bring peace back to the North 24 Parganas district's Sandeshkhali. Upon Shubhendu's arrival at Raj Bhavan, the Governor was not there. Subhendu Adhikari delivered a memo to the Raj Bhavan officials while the governor was away. Inside Raj Bhavan, BJP MLAs also chanted slogans during this time. "Mamata is laughing and Sandeshkhali is burning," he uttered. Shubhendu has accused Sandeshkhali of violating human rights.

He said on social media platform X, 'Sandeshkhali is a place where justice and law do not exist. The rule of Sheikh Shahjahan and his associates has been established here.

Sandeshkhali has implemented Section 144, and internet services have been suspended. Local women are demonstrating in the meantime, calling for the arrest of Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan and his aides who are on the run. Local women turned out to demonstrate on Saturday, using sticks and brooms, as the protests grew more intense. She claimed that in addition to forcibly occupying her land, Shahjahan and his allies sexually molested her. Concurrently, proponents of Sheikh Shahjahan are demonstrating in public.

In the ration distribution scam case, the Enforcement Directorate raided TMC leader Shahjahan's home last month. Supporters of Shahjahan attacked ED personnel during this raid. This attack resulted in injuries to three officers. Sheikh Shahjahan has been evading capture since this incident, though.
