The 2023 ODI World Cup is no less than a nightmare for Pakistan. Now the team was defeated by South Africa by one wicket in a thrilling match in Chennai. This is Pakistan's fourth consecutive defeat in this tournament. For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj and Tabrez Shamsi added 11 runs for the 10th wicket. Aiden Markram scored 91 runs, while Tabrez Shamsi took 4 wickets.
In Chepauk, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat, the team was all out after scoring 270 runs in 46.4 overs. Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel scored fifties. South Africa achieved the target by losing 9 wickets in 47.2 overs. Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets from Pakistan. Whereas Mohammad Wasim, Haris Rauf and Usama Mir took 2-2 wickets.

From South Africa, David Miller 29, Marco Jansen 20, Heinrich Klaasen 12, Rassie van der Dussen 21, Temba Bavuma 28, Quinton de Kock 24 and Gerald Coetzee were out after scoring 10 runs. Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets for Pakistan, while Mohammad Wasim Junior and Usama Mir got 2 wickets each. Haris Rauf also got one wicket.
Markram was caught after scoring 91 runs
After Miller's wicket, Aiden Markram took over the innings with Marco Janson. He added 29 runs with Yanson and 15 runs with Gerald Cooties. But after scoring 91 runs, Usama was caught on the bowling of Mir, Babar caught him. After him, Gerald Cooties also got out after scoring 10 runs in the next over. Miller-Markram partnership crossed 200

Both of them made a partnership of 54 runs on 54 balls and took the team's score beyond 100 runs. Van der Dussen was out after scoring 21 runs and their partnership broke. After Dusson, Heinrich Klaasen was also out after scoring 12 runs and South Africa's score became 136 runs for 4 wickets.
Shadab got hurt, Usama Mir got concussion
Shadab Khan got injured while fielding in the very first over of South Africa's innings. He fell while throwing, due to which he suffered a head injury. He came to field after staying in the dugout for about 8 overs. But he again left the field in the 14th over, Usama Mir came to field in his place. In the 15th over, Shadab was replaced by Usama under the concussion rule. Now Shadab will not take part in the match, Usama Mir will bowl in his place.
South Africa lost 2 wickets in the first 10 overs
The South African team, which set out to chase the target of 271 runs, had a good start. The team scored 30 runs in just 2 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed from Pakistan bowled the first over with the new ball. De Kock scored 19 runs in Shaheen's first over by hitting 4 consecutive fours.
South Africa also got its first blow in the fourth over, Quinton de Kock became the victim of Shaheen Afridi after scoring 24 runs. After the dismissal of Saud and Shadab, another collapse of Pakistan batting was seen. Shadab was out on the score of 225 runs, the team could score only 45 runs from here and also lost the last 4 wickets. Shadab was out after scoring 43 runs on 36 balls and the partnership of 84 runs between the two was broken. However, with their partnership, both of them had taken Pakistan beyond 225 runs. Saud also got out after some time after scoring 52 runs.
Lost 5 wickets for 141 runs
Pakistan team had a bad start, having lost 3 consecutive matches in the tournament. The team lost the openers for 38 runs, Abdullah Shafiq could score only 9 and Imam-ul-Haq could score only 12 runs. Babar Azam led the team by scoring 50 runs and Mohammad Rizwan scored 31 runs, but after Rizwan's wicket, Iftikhar was also out after scoring 21 runs and the team's score became 141 runs for 5 wickets.
Babar was out after making his third fifty in the tournament
Pakistan captain Babar Azam scored fifty on 64 balls against South Africa. He became the victim of Tabrez Shamsi after scoring 50 runs. Changes in both teams
There were two changes in the Pakistan team. Hasan Ali is ill, Mohammad Wasim Jr replaced him. Usama Mir was dropped, Mohammad Nawaz got a chance in his place. However, Usama replaced Shadab Khan in the second innings as he suffered a concussion.
Captain Temba Bavuma returned to the South Africa team, he could not play the last two matches due to illness, he replaced Reeza Hendricks. Lungi Ngidi and Tabraiz Shamsi are also playing today's match. Both of them replaced Kagiso Rabada and Lizard Williams.
