South Africa defeated Bangladesh by 149 runs in the 23rd match of World Cup 2023. Quinton de Kock played an inning of 174 runs from the team, while Mahmudullah from Bangladesh scored a century. Both players scored their third century in the World Cup.

With the win over Bangladesh, South Africa reached number-2 in the points table. The team pushed the New Zealand team, which won only 4 matches, to third place. Both the teams have 8-8 points, but South Africa is ahead due to better run rate.
