S-400: Putin himself could not save the air defence system given by Russia to India, Ukraine destroyed it

The S-400 Triumph, one of Russia's most powerful air defence systems, has been destroyed by Ukraine in the war. Ukraine has claimed that it has destroyed this system with a ballistic missile. Ukraine says that it fired ATACMS ballistic missiles and after this, it also launched cruise missiles at it. This air defence system was deployed at Zhankoi airbase in Russia at that time. This airbase is located in Northern Crimea. The report says that in this attack by Ukraine, not only the S-400 but also Russia's powerful supersonic bomber fighter jet crashed. Which was considered the most powerful weapon of the Russian Air Force.

The Tupolev TU-22M was the name of the Russian fighter aircraft. Ukraine claims that it destroyed Russia's S-400 air defence system and Tupolev TU-22M fighter jet, despite Russia's claim that the aircraft crashed because of technical issues.

India acquired the S-400 air defence system from Russia, which Ukraine had destroyed. India received the first shipment of Russia's S-400 air defence missile system in December 2021. Then, a second shipment was sent to India in April 2022. On Republic Day, there was also an S-400 parade in India.

On the other hand, out of four members of the crashed Russian fighter jet, one has died while three have been rescued safely. It is reported that the crash site is about 600 kilometres behind the front line in Ukraine. Russian and Ukrainian military bloggers have shared many videos on social media regarding these attacks, although no one has yet officially confirmed these videos.

Ukrainian Air Force commander Mykola Oleshchuk announced that this was the first time that a missile had successfully shot down such an aircraft.
