Pulwama terror attack completes 5 years, India gave a befitting reply to the martyrdom of 40 soldiers

On the day of 14th February, something happened in India which is remembered as a dark day. A terrorist attack took place in Pulwama on 14 February 2019, which has completed 5 years today. 5 years ago today, at around 3 pm, a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist hit a truck carrying explosive material in a CRPF convoy at Goripora near Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. In Pulwama, this Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist had targeted the CRPF convoy in a suicide attack and in this attack, about 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred and 35 were injured. The Pulwama terrorist attack was condemned worldwide.

The bodies of all the soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack were wrapped in tricolour and brought to Palam in Delhi. Here, many leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the martyrs killed in the Pulwama attack.

After the Pulwama attack, on February 17, PM Modi, while addressing the nation, said, "There is as much fire in my heart as there is fire in the hearts of the people of the country because of this terrorist attack. The terrorists have made a big mistake by doing this." And this nefarious act of theirs will be avenged. Everyone's tears will be avenged."

India swiftly took revenge for the Pulwama attack. 12 days after the Pulwama attack, on February 26, 2019, at around three in the morning, India exacted revenge. The Indian Air Force's 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets broke through the Line of Control (LoC) to launch swift attacks on the terrorist hideouts of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot. Several thousand kilogrammes of bombs were dropped on terrorist hideouts during this airstrike. Approximately 300 Pakistani terrorists lost their lives in the Balakot airstrike. PM Modi was informed about this airstrike constantly. For this airstrike, Prime Minister Modi commended Air Force Chief BS Dhanoa, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and all other participants.
