PM Modi promised every possible support to the textile sector, addressed Bharat Tex
Bharat Tex: In his speech to the crowd following the launch of "Bharat Tex 2024," Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the government is making significant efforts to boost the textile industry's contribution to the development of a developed India.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that the textile industry will be crucial to India's development by 2047 and pledged his complete support for it. In 2047, India will have been independent for a century.
In his speech to the crowd following the launch of "Bharat Tex 2024," Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the government is making significant efforts to boost the textile industry's contribution to the development of a developed India.
‘Bharat Tex’ is one of the largest global textile events organized in the country. Modi said, “We have resolved to transform India into a developed nation in the next 25 years. The four important pillars of developed India are the poor, youth, farmers and women. Notably, India's textile sector is linked to all these pillars. Therefore an event like ‘Bharat Tex’ becomes very important for all of us.” He said that in 2014 the valuation of India's textile market was less than Rs 7 lakh crore whereas now it has crossed Rs 12 lakh crore.
The Prime Minister said that the production of yarn, fabric and apparel has increased by 25 per cent in the last 10 years. The government has full attention on quality control in the textile sector. “Our government is fully committed to supporting you in all your endeavours,” Modi said. ‘Bharat TEX 2024’ is expected to be attended by textile students, weavers, artisans and textile workers along with policymakers and global CEOs, over 3,500 exhibitors, over 3,000 buyers from over 100 countries and over 40,000 trade visitors.
