The Railway Ministry states that plans are in place to renovate the New Delhi Railway Station. There will be various stages to this project. Many trains may be diverted as a result of this. In order to avoid any issues, railways will notify passengers ahead of time.

In fact, Indian Railways intends to renovate roughly 1300 of the nation's railway stations. This also calls for the revitalization and development of New Delhi Railway Station. Previous plans called for completing this work at a single station, but current information indicates that doing it in phases is being considered. The Central Government's 2023 Railway Budget contained information on this as well.

According to the information, the redevelopment work of the railway station may take about four to five years to complete. It will be ready by the end of 2028 or 2029. Due to this, train stations will be diverted. Railways will take special care to ensure that this plan does not cause any inconvenience to the passengers. All information about the trains running from the station will be given to the passengers from time to time. Around 300 trains run daily from New Delhi Railway Station. More than six lakh passengers travel through New Delhi station.

Trains from New Delhi station can be diverted to nearby stations. There are plans to shift some trains to Anand Vihar, Sarai Rohilla Railway Station, Delhi Cantt, and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. Apart from this, some trains can also be shifted to other stations of Delhi apart from Ghaziabad railway station. Apart from this, many trains will continue to run from New Delhi station like before.
