Nagorno-Karabakh: 20 refugees killed in oil depot explosion, Armenia alleges ethnic cleansing

So far, 20 people have been reported dead in an explosion at an oil depot in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. Hundreds of people have been injured in the accident. According to media reports, about 300 people are injured and have been admitted to hospitals. The condition of many of the injured is critical. In such a situation, there is a possibility of the death toll increasing. Armenia has termed this blast as ethnic cleansing. The cause of the explosion has not been known yet.

The death toll may increase
According to the news, the incident occurred in Stepanakert city of Nagorno Karabakh. Local administration said that bodies of 13 people have been recovered and seven people died during treatment in the hospital. Efforts are being made to identify the dead bodies. Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Peshinyan has said that ethnic cleansing is being carried out in the area. Azerbaijan has said that it wants to include traditional Armenians and considers everyone equal.

There has been a dispute for a long time
Let us tell you that Nagorno Karabakh is a mountainous area, which is internationally considered the territory of Azerbaijan but it has been controlled by the Armenians for the last three decades. Russia also supports Armenia in this matter. Last week, the Azerbaijani army conducted an operation here, in which more than 200 Armenian civilians were killed. Now Armenians have started migrating from Nagorno Karabakh area. This is the reason why Armenia has termed the death of people in the oil depot explosion amid migration as ethnic cleansing.
