Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Adi Kailash from Kailash View Point in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand on Thursday morning. This view point is in Jolingkong area from where Mount Kailash is clearly visible. For this there will be no need to go to Tibet occupied by China.

Along with this, the PM offered prayers at Parvati Kund. The border of China starts 20 kilometers away from here. Narendra Modi is the first PM of the country, who visited Adi Kailash mountain on the India-China border in Uttarakhand.

PM visited Adi Kailash at 9:00 AM in the morning.
11:00 am: PM Modi reached Gunji village situated 14000 feet above.
After Kailash Darshan, PM Modi reached Gunji village, situated 70 km away from Dharchula in Uttarakhand and situated 14000 feet above. Here he met the local people. This village will develop into a big religious city Shiv Dham in the next two years. After Dharchula, this will be the biggest and important stop for the devotees coming to visit Kailash View Point, Om Parvat and Adi Kailash. Big passenger residences and hotels will be built here. Network of Indian telecom companies will also be available. Home stays will be increased in the village.

Gunji is situated on a safe land in the Vyas valley, where there is neither danger of landslides nor of floods. At present only 20 to 25 families live here, who are barely able to meet their expenses. According to Pithoragarh DM Reena Joshi, the path to Nabhidhang, Om Parvat and Kailash View Point goes from the right side of Gunji, while the path to Adi Kailash and Jollykong goes from the left side. Therefore this village is suitable for the convenience of Kailash pilgrims.

PM Modi will also visit Jageshwar Dham
The Prime Minister will go to Jageshwar, District Almora at around 12 noon. Here he will visit Jageshwar Dham. Jageshwar Dham, situated at an altitude of about 6200 feet, has 224 stone temples. At 2:30 pm, PM will inaugurate development projects worth about Rs 4200 crore in Pithoragarh related to sectors like rural development, roads, electricity, irrigation, drinking water, horticulture, education, health and disaster management.

Uttarakhand CM said tourism will increase due to PM's visit

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave information about PM Modi's visit. Pushkar Singh Dhami said that tourism will definitely increase in Kumaon division with the arrival of PM Modi.

Kailash Darshan will now be possible from India; View point found in Uttarakhand, holy mountain 50 km away from here

Mount Kailash, considered the home of Lord Shiva, can now be seen from India only. For this there will be no need to go to Tibet occupied by China. Mount Kailash is clearly visible from the 18 thousand feet high Lipulekh hills of Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. The aerial distance of the mountain from here is 50 kilometers.
