Mastercard will be discharged, BCCI floats tender for title sponsorship of domestic series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued tenders regarding the title sponsor for the upcoming domestic series. The BCCI on Tuesday announced the release of applications for securing title sponsor rights for BCCI events. Mastercard had acquired the title sponsor rights for the 2022-23 domestic season, which have now lapsed. For this reason, now BCCI has to issue it again.

According to the information given in the tender issued by the BCCI, the companies filling it will be able to submit it by August 21 along with all the necessary documents included in the Invitation to Tender (ITT). To buy this tender, a fee of Rs 1 lakh will have to be paid, on which 18% GST will also have to be paid. Apart from this, this fee will also not be refunded.

The ITT will be available for purchase until August 21, 2023. Interested parties are requested to email details of payment made for the purchase of ITT as per the procedure laid down in Annexure A to titlesponsor.itt@bcci.tv.

The statement further said, "Any party desirous of submitting a bid is required to purchase the ITT. However, only those fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in the ITT and subject to other terms and conditions prescribed therein shall be eligible to bid." It is clarified that the mere purchase of ITT does not entitle any person to bid.

Last week, the BCCI announced the schedule for India's domestic season in 2023-24, which will have a total of 16 international matches, comprising 5 Tests, 3 ODIs and 8 T20Is. Notably, fantasy gaming platform Dream 11 reportedly won the principal sponsor rights of BCCI in June this year for Rs 358 crore. In September last year, the BCCI announced that Mastercard had acquired the title sponsorship rights for all BCCI international and domestic matches.
