BMW launched the iX1 electric SUV in India which is based on the ICE-powered X1. Like the X1, the iX1 caters to the entry-level luxury SUV segment, but in the battery-powered space. It competes with full electric luxury crossover cars like Volvo XC40 Recharge and Kia EV6. Here we are comparing these three luxury EVs to see how different they are from each other in terms of performance.

How much difference is there in the features?

BMW iX1
The BMW iX1 features a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, adaptive suspension, ambient lighting, powered with memory and massage functions. Features like front seats, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system are available.


In terms of safety, the iX1 is loaded with features like eight airbags, electric parking brake, parking assistance and ADAS features like lane departure warning, front collision warning, manual speed limit assist and theft assist.

Volvo XC40 Recharge
The Volvo Powered front seats with side memory and Harman Kardon sound system are available.


Safety features of the Swedish electric SUV include 7 airbags, traction control, HSA, HDC, TPMS and ADAS features like lane departure warning, front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection and many more.

EV6
The EV6, on the other hand, gets a 12.3-inch dual-screen setup, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, augmented reality HUD, flush door handles, 10-way powered and ventilated front seats, front powered seats, electric sunroof, remote folding seats, 60... Many features like more connected car features, 360-degree parking camera, powered tailgate, vehicle-to-load (V2L), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging are available.
In terms of safety, the Korean crossover gets eight airbags, ESP, HAC, VSM, BAS, MCBA, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging pad, 64-color ambient lighting and more than 10 ADAS functions.

Battery, Motor Specifications
Talking about powertrain specifications, the Volvo XC40 Recharge beats both its rivals by a significant margin with a maximum output of 402 bhp and 660 Nm of torque. The battery capacity of the XC40 Recharge and EV6 is almost the same. But the EV6 claims a better single-charge range of 708 km. All three models offer a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup. The EV6 comes with a single-motor, rear-wheel drivetrain option.
