It is said that doctors are God. This has been proved once again. A doctor from Kerala saved a female passenger who faced a medical emergency on board an Air India flight from Delhi to San Francisco with the help of an Apple watch.
It happened on July 2 when a 56-year-old woman fell ill in the middle of the flight, started feeling dizzy, and began vomiting. Then Dr. Gigi V Kuruttukulam, Medical Director of Rajagiri Hospital, Kerala, immediately came forward to treat the woman and examined her. But the problem was that he did not have any medical equipment.
He asked the lady to lie down and measured her heart rate and oxygen flow with the Apple smartwatch the lady was wearing. The watch showed that she had low oxygen and high BP; then, he gave her certain injections available in the flight's medical kit that enabled her to travel. But she was rushed to a hospital immediately upon arrival at San Francisco airport.
