Delhi Flood: The rising water level of Yamuna in Delhi has broken the record of 45 years. The water level of the river reached 207.55 meters at 2 pm on Wednesday. Which is the highest in the last 45 years. Amidst the worsening flood situation, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The flood situation in the capital Delhi is getting worse due to the spate in the Yamuna. Yamuna's water level has broken the record of 45 years. Flood water has entered many areas of the capital situated near Yamuna. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah today amid the havoc of floods. In a letter written to the Home Minister, Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the G-20 and said that a good message will not go to the world due to the dire flood situation in Delhi. He appealed to the Home Minister to limit the water being released from the Hathinikund Barrage in Haryana so that Yamuna's inflow could be controlled.

It is written that it has not rained in Delhi for 3 days, yet the level of Yamuna is increasing. Due to the continuous release of water from Hathini Kund, the water level of Yamuna is increasing.

In the letter, the Delhi CM urged the Home Minister to release water from Hathini Kund at a limited level, so that the water level of Yamuna does not increase. The level of Yamuna reached 207.55 meters for the first time after 1978. According to CWC, the level of Yamuna will be 207.72 meters tonight. This means that the Yamuna will reach above the 1978 flood situation.

In the letter, the Delhi CM while calling for the G-20 summit wrote that Delhi is the capital of the country. The G-20 summit is going to be held here in a few weeks. The news of a flood in the national capital will not send a good message to the world. Together we all have to save the people of Delhi from this situation.

Many colonies situated along the banks including Yamuna Bazar and Monastery have been inundated with water. About 27 thousand people have been taken to safer places from the slums of Khadar. Relief camps have been set up for them. The old iron bridge has been closed due to rising water levels. Neither trains passing in its upper part, nor vehicles from the lower part. The route of trains has been changed.

Haryana is being called responsible for the flood-like situation in Delhi. In fact, after continuous rains for the last few days, water is being released continuously from Hathinikund in Haryana. Due to this the water level of Yamuna in Delhi has reached above the danger mark. This morning also 1.53 lakh cusecs of water have been released from Hathinikund Barrage.
