Karnataka: Maulana did dirty work with a minor boy in the mosque, the innocent told the truth to the family; accused arrested

A shameful incident has come to light from Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. In fact, a Maulana, originally from West Bengal, sexually assaulted a minor boy in a mosque here. At present, Karnataka Police has arrested the accused Maulana on Monday.

According to news agency IANS, the accused has been identified as 25-year-old Maulana Abdul Samad Ziyayi. He was arrested after the complaint of the victim's father. According to the police, the boy used to go to the mosque every day to read verses from the Quran and during that time he was brutally assaulted.

The accused lured the boy and allegedly sexually assaulted him on the night of September 23. The minor boy came home and informed his family about this, after which they were shocked. After this, the victim's father took him to the police station to lodge a complaint.

Kumta police registered a complaint regarding the entire incident registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act and arrested him with immediate effect. After this, the accused was produced before the District Sessions Court, from where he was sent to judicial custody.

At present, the police are carrying out further investigation into the matter and the interrogation of the accused Maulana is going on.
