Former Australia cricket team player and coach Justin Langer is soon going to get a big responsibility in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He can be made the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captained by KL Rahul. According to media reports, Langer is in talks with the Supergiants and if all goes well, he could replace Andy Flower as the head coach.

According to reports, LSG is on the lookout for a new head coach for IPL 2024 after Andy Flower's two-year contract expires and several rounds of talks have taken place between Langer and the Supergiants. The Supergiants' support staff is also expected to continue with Jonty Rhodes as fielding coach, Morne Morkel as bowling coach, and Vijay Dahiya as batting coach. Although officially none of the supergiants or Langer has given any information on this subject.

Langer has led the Perth Scorchers, winning three titles in the first four years of the Big Bash League (BBL) besides winning the Australian team's T20 World Cup 2021. He made Australia the T20 World Cup champion for the first time in 2021. Apart from this, Australia has also won the Ashes series at home by 4-0.

Langer played international cricket from 1993 to 2007. He represented Australia in 105 Tests and 8 ODIs. He scored 7696 runs in Tests at an average of 44.74, including 23 centuries and 30 half-centuries. He collected 160 runs in ODIs. Langker was appointed Australia's coach in 2018 for a four-year term. However, Langer had to step down before the completion of his term. It was said that the players were not comfortable with his behavior. Australia won the T20 World Cup for the first time under his coach.
