The 17th edition of the IPL is expected to begin on March 22, just five days after the scheduled conclusion of the Women's Premier League (WPL). Just five days before the start of the T20 World Cup, IPL matches will be played in the West Indies and Caribbean. India's first match in the World Cup is to be held nine days later on June 5.

According to the report, the second season of WPL will take place from 22 February to 17 March. As reported earlier, the league will be hosted in Bengaluru and Delhi. The official announcement of the dates is expected in a day or two. This time the schedule of IPL will be prepared keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections.

It is noteworthy that general elections are to be held between March and May this year. In such a situation, the schedule will be prepared keeping in mind that there should be a balance in the security arrangements during the IPL matches and elections and there should not be any problem in law and order. BCCI wants to organize the league in India only. This time IPL matches will be held in a dozen cities.
