IPL 2023: CSK reached the final after defeating Gujarat Titans

The first qualifier match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is being played between defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In this match being played at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai defeated Gujarat by 15 runs and made it to the final of IPL 2023.

Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai Super Kings scored 172 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Once again for Chennai, opener Rituraj Gaikwad has scored a half-century while batting brilliantly. Gaikwad scored 60 off 44 balls with the help of one six and 7 fours. Apart from him, Devon Conway scored 40 off 33, Ravindra Jadeja scored 22 off 16 balls and Ajinkya Rahane scored 17 off 10 balls. For Gujarat, Mohammed Shami took two wickets for 28 runs. And Mohit Sharma took two wickets for 32 runs in four overs.

In reply, Gujarat Titans were bundled out for 157 runs in 20 overs. Shubman Gill once again batted brilliantly for Gujarat. Gill scored 42 runs in 38 balls. He hit four fours and a six. Apart from Gill, all-rounder Rashid Khan scored 30 runs off 16 balls. Apart from this, no other batsman could do anything special. For Chennai, Mahish Teekshana, Deepak Chahar, Mathisha Pathirana and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each and Tushar Deshpande took one wicket.

With this win, Chennai Super Kings have reached the final of IPL 2023. On the other hand, Gujarat has one more chance to make it to the finals. Now Gujarat will play Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) or Mumbai Indians (MI) in the second qualifier, whoever wins the eliminator match.
