IND vs SL: Match delayed due to rain, umpires are inspecting the field, Sri Lanka's batting will start in some time

The final match of Asia Cup 2023 is being played between defending champions Sri Lanka and India. Rain has once again interfered in the match being played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Due to this, there is a delay in starting the match. According to the latest updates, the covers have been removed from the field and the match can start by 3.40 pm.

Earlier, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and decided to bat first. India is playing in the final of the Asia Cup after 5 years. Their eyes will be on winning this title for the 8th time. Whereas Sri Lanka will be defending the title. Sri Lanka won this title six times.

The Indian team has made six changes in this match. Veteran batsman Virat Kohli, star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, spinner Kuldeep Yadav, and vice-captain Hardik Pandya have returned. Considering the spin pitch, Washington Sundar has got a chance in place of injured Akshar Patel. Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Shami, and Axar Patel have been dropped.

Their star bowler Mahish Tikshina is not playing for Sri Lanka. Theekshana had strained his right hamstring during the Super Four match against Pakistan and staggered off the field after completing his quota of overs. Hemantha is playing in his place.
