India's star batsman Shubman Gill achieved another milestone. While playing against the Netherlands, Shubman Gill achieved the feat of scoring 2000 runs in a calendar year. This year, Shubman Gill became the first batsman in the world to do so.

India won the toss and decided to bat first against the Netherlands. No changes were made to the Indian team. The pair of Rohit and Gill batted brilliantly. There was a partnership of 100 runs between the two for the first wicket. Shubhman Gill played an innings of 51 runs in 32 balls. During this, three fours and 4 sixes were hit.

With the help of this half-century, Shubman Gill registered a unique record in his name. Shubman Gill became the first batsman in the world to complete 2000 runs in a calendar year. Gill has scored 1500 runs in 27 ODI matches this year. He has scored 230 runs in Tests this year at an average of 32.85. In T-20, he has scored 304 runs at an average of 30.40 with the help of one century. Gill has scored 2,034 runs so far this year.

Due to this achievement, Shubman Gill has registered his name in the list of great players. Sachin Tendulkar has scored 2000 or more runs in a calendar year five times. Sachin had scored more than 2000 international runs in the years 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2007. Whereas, Virat Kohli has done this feat 6 times.
