Home Minister Shah introduced three bills related to criminal laws in Lok Sabha, will replace IPC-CRPC
Bills to amend the IPC, CrPC and Evidence Act were introduced in the Lok Sabha amid protests by many opposition MPs in the Parliament complex.

The opposition has become aggressive regarding the breach in the security of Parliament. Opposition MPs are adamant on the demand for discussion on this issue. Since the incident, there has been fierce squabbling between the ruling and opposition MPs in both the Houses of Parliament. Meanwhile, several opposition MPs have been suspended from the remaining proceedings of the winter session of Parliament on charges of 'disrupting the proceedings'. In the suspension action that started on Friday, 141 opposition MPs have been suspended till Tuesday. Amid uproar by opposition MPs in the Parliament complex, three bills to amend the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act were re-introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Let us tell you that Amit Shah introduced three amended criminal law bills in the Lok Sabha last week which will replace the IPC, CrPC and the Indian Evidence Act. The Home Minister has withdrawn three bills introduced in the Lok Sabha during the monsoon session of Parliament. He said the bills have been withdrawn and three new bills have been introduced as some changes have to be made. He said the Bills were examined by the Standing Committee and instead of coming up with official amendments, it was decided to re-introduce the Bills.
The Indian Justice (II) Code 2023, the Indian Civil Defense (II) Code 2023, and the Indian Evidence (II) Bill 2023 aim to replace the IPC, CrPC and the Evidence Act. Earlier the bills were introduced in the Parliament Lok Sabha on August 11, they were referred to the Standing Committee.

On discussion on these bills, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the bills have been discussed. Emphasis on the use of modern technology in the bills was also appreciated. This is the age of technology and information. Many provisions in this bill ensure promotion of digital records, use of laptops, under the new provisions the trial can take place digitally.
