Poilievre's comments come after the viral video of Justice for Sikh Chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in which he threatened Hindus and asked them to leave the country.

After the murder of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, tensions have arisen in the relations between India and Canada. Meanwhile, a video threatening Hindus in Canada and asking them to leave the country went viral, due to which the atmosphere has once again heated up. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing opposition from the ruling party as well as opposition leaders on this issue.

Pierre Poilievre is the leader of the opposition Conservative Party of Canada. In a survey, he has left PM Justin Trudeau behind in terms of popularity. Poilievre was liked by 40 percent of people in the survey for the post of Prime Minister, while only 31 percent of people supported Trudeau. Poilievre also praised his contribution while condemning the comments on Hindus.

Poilievre said Hindus have made invaluable contributions to every part of Canada. The Hindu community will always be welcomed here. He said that any person can live in Canada without any fear.

In fact, Gurpatwant Pannu, head of the banned organization Sikh for Justice and Khalistan supporter in India, had released a video threatening Hindus of Indian origin. Along with this, he was also asked to leave the country.

Poilievre said on the social media platform 'X' that every person living in Canada has the right to live without any fear. He said that in recent times, we have seen hateful comments targeting Hindus in Canada. Conservatives condemn these comments against our Hindu neighbors and friends.

The Canadian opposition leader further said that Hindus have made invaluable contributions to every part of our country. Therefore he will always be welcome here.

Tension arose in the relations between India and Canada when PM Justin Trudeau alleged that India was behind the murder of Khalistan supporter Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Nijjar was shot dead on 18 June.

The Indian government rejected Trudeau's allegations, calling them absurd and motivated. Canada had expelled an Indian diplomat, in response to which India also expelled Canada's top diplomat. The Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory for Indian citizens and students living in Canada and asked them to be cautious.

On this entire controversy, Pierre Poilievre said that Trudeau should come forward clearly with all the facts to make a decision. We need to know all the possible evidence so that a decision can be taken.

Poilievre even said that Trudeau did not provide any facts. He has only given a statement. If more information is not provided the allegations may be found to be false or unreliable. I need more evidence to decide on this.

Poilievre alleged that even when China took two Canadian citizens hostage, Trudeau did nothing. He had adopted the same approach in that case also.
