Grenade attack on the house of former Chief Justice of Pakistan, two policemen injured, Saqib refused to donate money for building a dam!

There was a massive grenade attack on the official residence of former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar in Lahore on Wednesday evening. Two policemen posted at his residence were badly injured in this attack. After this incident, when a local TV channel asked Saqib Nisar for his reaction over the phone, he said that I was sitting in a room with my family members and then a heart-wrenching explosion occurred. For a few seconds, we were stunned. After that, when I reached the garage, two policemen deployed for security were lying injured. The security personnel themselves told Saqib that unknown people threw a grenade in the garage of the house and ran away.

Chief Justice Saqib said that two security personnel have been admitted to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment. Expressing concern over this incident, Saqib said that he suspects that an attempt has been made to send him some serious message through this attack. Punjab Police spokesperson said that the police reached the spot and are investigating all aspects of the incident.

The country's former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Lahore in October after spending four years in self-exile in Britain. He has been continuously targeting the former CJP for ousting him from power in 2017. The Supreme Court bench led by former CJP Nisar had disqualified Nawaz in the Panama Papers case in 2017. Punjab Police said that the security of the Chief Justice has been increased after this incident.

Saqib is one of the chief justices of Pakistan and enjoys recognition in a very positive and negative sense. It is said about him that he used to visit the hospital and other departments suddenly for inspection.
