Former Pakistani captain got angry at this statement of Mohammad Shami, said – this is a target on Inzamam-ul-Haq
Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has reacted to Shami's statement. Salman believes that Shami's statement was not correct and it was a target of Inzamam.
After the performance of Pakistan in World Cup T20 2024, which was pretty shameful, Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami gave a statement that went viral. Shami had said that Pakistan needs to bring about changes in its selection process and should not make a team based on family relationships. Now former Pakistan captain Salman Butt reacted to this. Salman believes that the statement given by Shami was not correct; this was targeting Inzamam.
Salman said on YouTube, 'Pakistan does not select the team on the basis of family relationships and friendship. Mohammad Shami's target was Inzamam-ul-Haq. Targeting Inzamam, he had said that Pakistan selects its team on the basis of personal relationships and I think it is wrong. If you look at Imam's record, he came into the Pakistan team on the basis of his performance. When Imam fails, he is also dropped. His statement was not in accordance with dignity and he should not have said such things. '
Salman further said, 'There were some controversies which should have been ignored. Many people made statements and Inzamam also said something on which Rohit Sharma gave clarification. But commenting on the selection of players because they are relatives cannot be considered in accordance with dignity. Such things do not suit Mohammad Shami. He is a famous bowler, just as Inzamam was a famous captain.'
