There was information about the presence of terrorists in Hadigam of Adigam area of Kulgam. After this, a search operation was conducted in Hadigam in collaboration with Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Meanwhile, seeing the Indian security forces moving towards them, these terrorists started firing. After this, the terrorists were first given a chance to surrender. Still, when the terrorists continued firing, the security forces also started retaliating. The number of terrorists trapped in the encounter is said to be two to three.
In the first encounter of the year 2024, security forces are currently surrounded. Firing continues from both sides. The security forces have cordoned off the entire village and sealed the entry and exit routes. Terrorists are still firing.
In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police together killed a total of 76 terrorists in 2023. Of these, a maximum of 55 terrorists were from Pakistan. Compared to 2022, there has been a 63 per cent reduction in terrorist incidents.
