Enemy will be in trouble, America is ready to give 31 MQ-9B Predator drones to India, know its features
America has given final approval to the sale of the MQ-9B Predator drone to India. Under this deal, India will receive 31 Predator drones.
The US Joe Biden administration on Thursday approved the sale of 31 MQ-9B armed drones to India at an estimated cost of US$3.99 billion. The mega drone deal was announced during PM Narendra Modi's state visit to the US in June last year. Under the proposed deal, India will get 31 High Altitude Long Endurance (Hall) UAVs from the US, out of which the Navy will get 15 SeaGuardian drones, while the Army and Air Force will get eight ground version SkyGuardian drones each.
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement that the decision has been taken to approve the possible foreign military sale of MQ-9B remotely operated drones and related equipment to the Indian government. Necessary certification has been given to inform the US Parliament about this. It is believed that very soon a notification will be issued by the US Congress and the Indian Government will be informed.
The MQ-9B drone can fly continuously for 35 hours in the air and can be operated up to a height of 40 thousand feet. It can also fly with heavy bombs and missiles. With this, unmanned surveillance and reconnaissance patrolling can be further increased. The Navy is already operating two Predator drones from Rajali airbase in Tamil Nadu, which have been taken on lease from the US.
