Election Bond: Future Gaming gave the DMK a donation of Rs 509 crore, but details regarding a bond worth Rs 859 crore are missing

The highest donation of Rs 509 crore to the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu has been given by the controversial company Future Gaming and Hotel Services Limited. On March 14, 2024, when the Election Commission made public the list of companies buying bonds, Future Gaming was at the top.

Santiago Martin, better known as Lottery King, is the company's promoter. The ED has Santiago Martin himself under investigation. A total of Rs 656.5 crore in election donations have been given to the DMK. From this angle, it appears that DMK has been given more than 77% of the money that the contentious Lottery King was awarded.

Given that the majority of political parties have not made their donors' names public. As a result, it is unknown who cashed the remaining Rs 859 crore in bonds that Future Gaming had bought. Future Gaming has contributed a total of Rs 1,368 crore to the nation's political parties through election donations.
