ED's major action against former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat, search operation at 16 locations
Harak Singh Rawat: Due to his anti-party activities, Harak Singh Rawat was expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2022 and from both the cabinet and the party's primary membership for six years. Harak Singh Rawat joined the Congress only after this, ahead of the assembly elections.

Major action has been taken by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Uttarakhand against Harak Singh Rawat, a former minister and senior Congress leader. The group arrived at the Defence Colony home. In response, the ED is carrying out raids in Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, and Delhi. 16 locations in these three states are the target of Enforcement Directorate raids. There are two instances in which this ED raid is being carried out. The first instance of this concerns forest land. Moreover, there is another instance of a land scam.

Only after this, Harak Singh Rawat joined Congress before the assembly elections. In the year 2016, a total of 10 MLAs including Harak Singh Rawat rebelled against former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat. After this, he joined the BJP. Last year also in August, the Vigilance Department had taken action against Harak Singh Rawat.
