In America, six people in a family fell ill after eating undercooked bear meat. This has now come to light in the report of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to the report, this incident happened in July 2022. First, a 29-year-old man in Minnesota was hospitalized multiple times due to symptoms including fever, muscle aches, and swollen eyes.

After this, it was revealed that his family had also gone to a function with the person. Then at the ceremony, 6 members of the family ate kebabs made from bear meat.

According to reports, the mass was not completely melted. It was kept in the deep freezer without thawing it. Due to this, it remained half-cooked and six people including a 29-year-old youth ate it. As soon as people ate it, they immediately realized that it was undercooked. After this, it was cooked again.

Five other family members, including a 12-year-old girl, also had freeze-resistant worms. The medication used to treat him is called albendazole, and it stops worms from proliferating inside the body.

The 29-year-old later became ill and was admitted to the hospital, where medical professionals found that he had trichinellosis, a dangerous form of roundworm infection. Eating wild animals specifically is the cause of this disease. Its parasite enters the body and travels to the brain.

According to the CDC, the best way to kill worms is to cook meat properly to at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit. When Dr. Celine Gounder from CBS News was asked about the symptoms of brain worm, she said that vomiting, headache, and seizures are its main symptoms. However, some people do not experience any symptoms.
