DPL 2024: North Delhi Strikers beat Central Delhi Kings by 9 runs in a thrilling match

In the continuous Adani Delhi Premier League T20, North Delhi Strikers defeated Central Delhi Kings by 9 runs in a rain-interrupted thrilling match on Friday night at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. As the rain intervened, the number of overs in the match was reduced to 10-10. Chasing a target of 101 runs in 10 overs, Central Delhi Kings started the innings with Dhruv Kaushik and Hiten Dalal. Dhruv was removed by Manan Bhardwaj for 8 runs in the very first over. Sourav Dagar also along with captain Jonty Sidhu were dismissed early as Central Delhi Kings were struggling at 40/5 in five overs.

Falling wickets at regular wickets made it difficult for Central Delhi Kings to maintain the run rate. Lakshya Thareeja remained unbeaten on 24 runs off 16 deliveries, laced with two fours and a six. The Central Delhi Kings could manage only 91/7 runs in 10 overs. Earlier, Central Delhi Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first in the inning. Because of rain, this match was reduced to 10 overs.
