Keeping in view the problems of daily railway passengers, Railways is going to run the Vande Metro train. The construction work is going on at a fast pace. These trains, run on the lines of the metro, will connect 124 cities of the country in the first phase. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the first Vande Metro train will start running on the tracks in July. Initially, it will be run on a trial basis for two-three months. After that, it will be operated on other routes.

The route has not yet been chosen for examination. Fifty trains are now prepared. After the testing is finished, four hundred more Vande Metros will be ordered. Within the next two to three years, plans are underway to run four hundred Vande Metros. The number of coaches at Vande Metro will be determined by the needs.

Trains are getting ready for four, five, twelve, and sixteen coaches. There will be sixteen coaches on the train traveling the route with more passengers. A train consisting of four coaches will run where there are not enough passengers. On the intercity lines, the first native, semi-high-speed Vande Metro will operate. These will allow those cities to be connected, with a maximum distance of 250 km between them.

The maximum speed of the trains will be 130 km per hour and the fare will be normal. The waiting problem will end by 2031-32. Regarding the problem of waiting in trains, the Railway Minister said that when the construction work of coaches, locos, and tracks is completed, then the problem of waiting in trains will end. This will take at least seven to eight years. Meaning, the waiting problem in trains will end by 2031-32. Everyone will start getting confirmed tickets. At present, five thousand kilometers of new tracks are being laid every year. The target is to increase it to six thousand per year by next year.
