The Maharashtra government on Saturday conferred the country's renowned businessman Ratan Tata with the Udyog Ratna Award. The Chief Minister of the state and both the deputy CMs visited Ratan Tata's residence in Mumbai on Saturday and gave him the award. The state government will also confer this award on other businessmen who have played an important role in the development of Maharashtra.
After honoring Ratan Tata, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “Ratan Tata and the Tata Group have made a huge contribution to the country. Thank you for accepting this award given by the Government of Maharashtra.
Let us tell you that the Maharashtra government has started honoring the veteran businessmen of the state with this award this year. The event has been organized today at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. But due to the health of Ratan Tata, he has been honored at his residence a day in advance.
