Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is all set to face a vote of confidence in Parliament on July 12. He faces a crisis after some allies withdrew support.

Whereas another former coalition ally, the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist, has said Prachanda should immediately resign and pave the way for forming a new government. Prachanda, 69—announced not to step down after eight cabinet ministers belonging to CPN-UML resigned and would instead move a no-confidence motion in Parliament.

The CPN-UML withdrew support from the Prachanda government last week after it signed a power-sharing deal with the Nepali Congress to oust Prachanda. Three ministers from another ally, the Janata Samajwadi Party, pulled out from supporting Prachanda on Friday. The JSP has six more members in the House of Representatives.
