Chetan helps Bengaluru Blasters register 56-run win against Mysore Warriors
Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2024: Impact player Karthik SU (26) started Mysore's run chase with several boundaries. Karthik smashed a six and a four off Santok Singh in the first over, followed by two sixes and a four in the third over. But a brilliant catch by Shikhar Shetty in Shubhangi Hegde's first over derailed Karthik's aggressive play.

Bengaluru Blasters bagged their third straight triumph and overall fifth in the campaign by winning against Mysuru Warriors by 56 runs in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 on Sunday. Chetan LR thundered with a quick-fire 88 off 53 balls at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to help Bengaluru Blasters post 189/7. In reply, Bengaluru was able to manage a lead through Shubhangi Hegde, who scalped three wickets for 28 runs. Warriors Mysuru lost their fourth game.
Karthik SU opened the batting with a few boundaries for Mysore to get the chase underway. In went the impact player, slamming a six and a four in the first over off Santok Singh. Two sixes and a four in the third over did little to calm Karthik's nerves. But a fine running catch by Shikhar Shetty off Shubhangi Hegde in the first over brought an end to that marauding act.
Left-arm pacer Lavish Kaushal picked the wickets of Karthik (17) and Karun Nair (13) in sixth and eight overs of the match respectively. Meanwhile, Samit Dravid (5) fell to Kranti Kumar as they sat at 65/4 in 7.3 overs.
For a while, Harshil Dharmani and J Suchith held the innings together, with the duo pairing 36 runs for the fourth wicket. But Anirudh Joshi put down Mysore's comeback as he removed both Dharmani and Manoj Bhandage for naught in the 12th over. The hopes of Mysore having a perfect victory went bleak with the departure of J Suchith, where he put down Mysore batsmen at 104/7 in 12.4 overs.
Sumit Kumar remained unbeaten with 18*, but the other tail-enders perished quite easily. Kranti Kumar accounted for Gautam Sagar (7) and Deepak Devadiga (0), while Shubhangi Hegde had K. Gautam (3). Mysore Warriors concluded their innings at 133 wherein they were all out in the 17.5 over.
Bengaluru Blasters soon lost both the openers within four overs—with Nischal Dega out on a duck and Niranjan Naik for just three. Vidyadhar Patil, in the very first over, got Nischal with a golden duck, while Karthik CA uprooted Naik's stumps with a similar dismissal in the fourth over.
However, Chetan was a boss during the powerplay and led the Bangalore team to 58/2 in the first six overs. Rakshit contributed 29 and Chetan top-scored with 88 for Bangalore in the middle overs. Chetan did the most scoring by accumulating a half-century off 29 balls.
Besides that, Suraj Ahuja (32) was fighting, showing aggression. Their side posted a challenging target with the Bangalore Blasters putting up 189/7 off their stipulated 20 overs- back at 189/7 after early minute setbacks in this game.
