Now the Central Government has estimated the production of Kharif rice that this year the production of Kharif rice may decrease by more than 3 percent. Let us know about it in detail in this report.
The Agriculture Ministry had released a data yesterday. After these figures, the ministry estimated that this year's Kharif season production may decline by 3.79 percent to 106.31 million tonnes. This is because the states that produce the most rice in the country had less rainfall this year. Due to this, the production of the Kharif crop has declined.
Last year, Kharif rice production was 110.5 million tonnes. Let us tell you that rice is the main crop in Kharif crop. Its harvesting has just started.
According to the latest estimate released by the Ministry of Agriculture, the production of maize this year in Kharif season 2023-24 is estimated to be 22.48 million tonnes. At the same time, the production of tur dal is expected to be 3.42 million tonnes this year. Last year the production of tur dal was 3.31 million tonnes.
Similarly, the production of moong may also decrease. Compared to last year, this year the production of moong may reduce from 1.71 million tonnes to 1.40 million tonnes. At the same time, oilseed production is estimated to decline from 26.15 million tonnes to 21.53 million tonnes.
The production of groundnut can be 7.82 million tonnes and the production of soybean can be 11.52 million tonnes. There may also be a decrease in sugarcane production this year. The ministry has estimated that sugarcane production this year is expected to reach 434.7 million tonnes.
Cotton production is also expected to decline from 33.6 million bales to 31.65 million bales and jute production is expected to decline from 9.39 million bales to 9.19 million bales. Thus, the total production of food grains in the Kharif season this year is expected to be 148.56 million tonnes. This production is 155.7 million tonnes less than last year.
The ministry said that it also needs to be kept in mind that the first production assessment in the Kharif season of 2023-24 is largely based on the average yield of the last three years. The estimates given by the ministry may also be wrong. The ministry has made this estimate on the basis of yield.
