'Bring the bill for those who are not getting their rights', Rijiju said on the Waqf Amendment Bill; lashed out at the opposition
Waqf Bill: Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju today introduced two important bills related to amendment in the Waqf Board Act in the Lok Sabha. As soon as the amendment bill in the Waqf Board Act was introduced, there was a ruckus in the Lok Sabha.
Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday introduced the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the Lok Sabha. If the bill is passed, the government will play a big role in regulating waqf properties. However, opposition MPs have condemned it and called it unconstitutional and harsh. On this, Rijiju said that all the apprehensions of the opposition will be removed. This bill has not been brought to take away anyone's rights but to give rights to those who never got their rights.

Later, Union Minister Rijiju said, 'This bill will not interfere in the freedom of any religious institution. Forget about taking away anyone's rights, this bill has been brought to give rights to those who never got them.'
He further said, 'This bill is not violating the Constitution. This step is being taken to give rights to those who never got them. There is no interference in any religion. All the fears of the opposition will be dispelled. Support this bill and you will get the blessings of crores of people.'
Rijiju said, 'The bill that is being brought today is based on the report of the Sachar Committee (in which reforms were talked about), which you (Congress) had made.'
