Even before the launch, BMW Motorrad started the booking of its upcoming electric scooter CE 02. It is going to be the company's second electric scooter in India after CE 04. A teaser was shown before launching the BMW CE 02; from which one can tell it's going to come with a very attractive design, minimalist bodywork, a single-piece flat seat, LED headlamp, a small visor, and a golden upside-down (USD) front fork. Besides that, this scooter also features a 3.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ride, automatic stability control, electric reverse gear, single-channel ABS, and USB-C charging.
There are two removable batteries, 1.96kWh each, in the international market spec BMW CE 02. They channel power to the air-cooled synchronous motor. The battery fitted to the electric scooter puts out 15bhp and 55Nm of peak torque. The single-battery scooter manages up to 45km and achieves a top speed of 45kmph. At the same time, the twin-battery layout provides a reach of 90 km at a maximum speed of 95 km/h.
This electric scooter can be charged from 0% to 100% in 5 hours and 12 minutes with a 0.9kW charger. At the same time, the time for full charge with a 1.5kW fast charger is reduced by 3 hours and 30 minutes. It can be seen that the company launched it in India with a single- or twin-battery setup.
According to Jagran, this electric scooter to be launched in India will have a USD fork at the front and mono-shock at the rear, while the braking setup can have a 239 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc.
This is BMW's first electric scooter developed in collaboration with TVS. It will be launched in India this month. It is being said that the price of this scooter is going to be between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
