Warren Buffett, the legendary investor from America, has changed his will once again. He said in an interview that there were no plans to extend donations to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Instead, he would create another charitable trust for his wealth to be run by his three children. Buffett said that after his death, the Gates Foundation would not get any money. According to a CNN report, 93-year-old Buffett has changed his will several times. All his children have their charitable organizations. Buffett said I am proud of the value of my children. I am confident that they will carry forward my legacy in the proper manner. This comes after he had said that more than 99 percent of his wealth would all go to four trusts related to his family and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Berkshire Hathaway had said that Buffett is converting nearly 9,000 Class A shares into over 1.3 crore Class B shares. Of this, over 93 lakh will go to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The remainder will go to Buffett family-connected trusts. The net worth of Buffett stands at $ 129 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, making him the 10th wealthiest man in the world. He contributed approximately $43 billion in the last 18 years to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. His announcements came within a month after Melinda French Gates, the ex-wife of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, announced her separation from the foundation.
His three children, Susie, Howard, and Peter, have lived separately since 1977. He donated $870 million to family trusts last year. What is left for him are 207,963 Class A and 2,586 shares of Class B in Berkshire Hathaway. The value of these shares comes to about $128 billion.
