The Afghanistan cricket team suffered a big setback before the tour of India. ACB has banned three players Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Fazalhaq Farooqui and Naveen Ul Haq from playing franchise cricket by stopping their central contact. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) says that these three players are giving priority to their interests instead of playing for the national team. ACB has also clearly refused to give NOC to these three to play T20 league for two years and has also cancelled the NOCs received for the upcoming tournament. In such a situation, now these three will not be able to play IPL 2024.

Issuing a statement, the ACB said that Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Fazalhaq Farooqui and Naveen Ul Haq had recently expressed their desire to be released from the annual Central Contact starting on January 1, 2024. Along with this, all three had sought permission to play franchise cricket. Expressing displeasure over this decision of the players, ACB has taken a strict decision.

Expressing displeasure, ACB said that these three did not sign the central contract to pursue personal interests. Instead of playing for the country, he gave priority to commercial leagues. For this reason, ACB has taken a strict decision to take disciplinary action against them. This decision has been taken focusing on core values, principles and national priority.

Let us tell you that in the recently held IPL 2024 auction, Kolkata Knight Riders bought Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Naveen Ul Haq is part of Lucknow Super Giants and Fazalhaq Farooqui is part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. If ACB does not lift the ban on these three players, it will be a big blow to all three franchises.
