A tragic accident took place on Saturday on the third day of the National Motorcycle Racing Championship (MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship) at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai. During this, 13-year-old Kopparam Shreyas Harish's bike from Bangalore crashed. Shreyas had suffered serious injuries in the accident, due to which he died. Following the incident, event promoter Madras Motor Sports Club canceled the rest of the Saturday-Sunday races.

Shreyas was born on 26 July 2010 in Bangalore. Shreyas was a student of Kensari School, he was seen as a talented rising star. He won a lot of races this season, including 4 consecutive races at the National Levon, participating in the rookie category of the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship. His death at the Chennai racing event has left fans in despair. Shreyas celebrated his 13th birthday 10 days back.

It is being told that Shreyas had qualified for the pole position in the morning. While exiting Turn-1, his bike crashed on the track and he fell on the track. He suffered serious head injuries in this accident. The race was immediately stopped and Shreyas was taken to the nearest hospital in a trauma care ambulance. Where the doctors declared him dead. Shreyas's father Kopparam Harish was also present.

Expressing grief over the death of Shreyas, MMSC President Ajit Thomas said Shreyas was making a splash with his prodigious racing talent. Following this tragic incident, we have canceled all events for this weekend. MMSC expresses its condolences and our thoughts are with his family.
