Axar Patel had an important role to play in Team India winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Of course, Axar contributed to all three areas. When he was needed in bowling, he took wickets. On occasions when there was a need for runs, the bat of Axar worked well as he did a good job with the team even in fielding. No one can forget the catch of Mitchell Marsh in the Super-8 match against Australia.

After the T20 World Cup, Ravindra Jadeja has retired from this format. In such a situation, Axar Patel is expected to take his place. If seen, Axar is doing this work. He was also hitting long shots in terms of T20 and showing a good game under pressure. Akshar has told, playing tennis ball cricket makes it easier for him to do this.

Axar, while talking to Cricbuzz, said that tennis ball cricket helps him to hit shots on every kind of ball. He said that he is working on better technique of hitting shots with leather ball, but batting with tennis ball improved his batting mentality. He said, "Playing with tennis ball has an effect on my hitting ability because there you have to hit almost every ball. In a 10-12 over match, there is an attempt to hit fours and sixes on every ball. This affected my shot selection. Earlier I used to hit the ball on the leg side but when I came to leather ball cricket, I realized that it is very important to play the ball with swing, not to hit every ball."

Axar said that tennis ball cricket taught him to withstand pressure. He said, "Tennis ball cricket taught me how to handle pressure. When I was growing up, I usually found myself in pressure situations, which made me very stable and strong. I learned to stay calm and started thinking positive, which was very important in my career." In the final of the T20 World Cup-2024, when the Indian team lost two wickets early while batting first, Rohit Sharma promoted Axar Patel and sent him to number-5. The team benefited from this and Team India was successful in putting up a strong score. Axar scored 47 runs in 31 balls under pressure.
