Asian Games 2023: Indian women's squash team won bronze medal, lost to Hong Kong in semi-finals

The Indian women's squash team had to be content with a bronze medal in the Asian Games 2023 being held in Hangzhou, China on Friday. India had to suffer a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Hong Kong in the semi-finals.

India had a bad start in the semi-finals. Tanvi Khanna had to face defeat at the hands of Sin Yuk Chan in straight games 6-11, 7-11, 3-11. This match ended in only 22 minutes. Joshna Chinappa kept India's hopes alive. Joshna Chinappa, who played the second match for India, defeated J Lok Ho in a hard-fought match by 7-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6, 11-8.

In this way, India leveled the match 1-1. After this, India's hopes of victory rested on Anhat Singh. However, Anhat failed to live up to the expectations and lost 8-11, 7-11, and 10-12 against Ka Yi Li. However, the Indian women's squash team was successful in winning the bronze medal.

Now the Indian men's squash team will face Malaysia in the semi-finals. This match is expected to take place on Friday at 4 pm. Recall that the Malaysia men's squash team won the gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games. Whereas the Indian team had to be satisfied with bronze. India has won 31 medals so far.
