Horse rider Anush Agarwalla, who won the historic bronze medal in dressage at the Hangzhou Asian Games, has given the country its first Paris Olympics quota in horse riding. The country has got this quota thanks to Anush's performance in four events of the International Equestrian Federation.

Anush scored 73.485 per cent in Wroclaw (Poland), 74.4 per cent in Kronenbourg, Netherlands, 72.9 per cent in Frankfurt, Germany, and 74.2 per cent in Michelin, Belgium. Fawad Mirza played in the Tokyo Olympics.

Anush said, 'I am very proud and grateful to have been successful in securing a quota for India in the Paris Olympic Games. Competing in the Olympics has always been a childhood dream of mine and I am proud to be a part of this historic moment for the country. I will keep doing what I have always done. Always focus yourself on the goal, be disciplined, work hard, set goals and achieve them. I am confident that I will be selected to represent India on this prestigious platform.

The young rider thought that he would manage to hold onto the quota. Colonel Jaiveer Singh, General Secretary of the Indian Equestrian Federation (EFI), has also congratulated Anush. Jaiveer declared, "We have confirmation from the EFI regarding the dressage event's quota allocation." India should be proud that Anush's consistent performance in EFI events has allowed them to secure the quota. in EFI competitions, so it is hardly shocking that India will have athletes compete in the equestrian events at the Olympics once more.

The only athletes to compete on the greatest sporting stage before Fawad Mirza was the legendary Imtiaz Anees (2000), Inderjit Lamba (1996), and Dariya Singh (1980). Mirza represented India at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
