Another blow to Donald Trump, defamation claim against Elizabeth Jean Carroll dismissed

Donald Trump, the former President of the United States of America, has a deep connection with controversies. For this reason, they often get jerks. In the last few years, Trump has suffered many setbacks due to his old and new controversies and recently Trump has suffered another setback. Trump has received this blow against former American writer and journalist Elizabeth Jean Carroll.

Trump filed a defamation case against Carroll. Trump's case was a counter case that he did against Carroll's case, but Trump did not get success in it. A New York federal court dismissed Trump's defamation case, calling it baseless and saying that Trump's case is not strong at all. The dismissal of this case by Trump is not only a setback but also another legal defeat.

Trump counter-sued Carroll for defamation. The counter case suggests that Trump did this in response to Carroll's case. Actually, Carroll had filed a rape and defamation case against Trump. In May, a federal court in New York convicted Trump of sexual abuse and defamation in this case. However, he was not convicted of rape and the plea was dismissed. But a committee of 9 judges found Trump guilty of sexual abuse and defamation. Along with this, Trump was ordered to pay compensation of 5 million dollars (about Rs 41 crore) to Carroll in both cases. Due to the defeat in this case, Trump filed a countercase of defamation against Carroll.

After Trump's case was dismissed, his lawyer expressed disappointment over the decision. Along with this, he has also talked about filing an appeal against this decision as soon as possible.
