Home Minister Amit Shah said that the 108 feet tall statue of Lord Shri Ram will give the message of Sanatan Dharma to the world for ages and strengthen the Vaishnava tradition.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of 108 feet tall statue of Lord Shri Ram in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh through video conferencing. Shah said that the foundation stone of the grand panchaloha statue of Shri Ram costing more than Rs 500 crore has been laid at Mantralayam in Kurnool.
He said that this 108 feet tall statue of Lord Shri Ram installed in Mantralayam will give the message of our Sanatana Dharma to the whole world for ages and will strengthen the Vaishnava tradition in the country and the world. Shah said that 108 is a very sacred number in our Hindu culture.
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that this project spread over an area of 10 acres in Mantralayam village situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, would be completed in two and a half years. He said that Mantralayam village is very famous for the temple of Raghavendra Swamy. This place also has historical importance, on the banks of this Tungabhadra, the great Vijay Nagar Empire was born, which restored the homeland and self-religion by expelling the invaders. Shri Shah said that under the Mantralayam Das Sahitya Prakalp, many subjects like housing, Anna Daanam, Pran Daanam, Vidya Daanam, drinking water, and cow protection have been taken forward.
The Home Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paved the way for its construction by laying the foundation stone of the Shri Ram temple pending for many years in Ayodhya. Now soon the idol of Ramlala will be installed in the Shri Ram temple and after hundreds of years once again Lord Shri Ram will sit in his own house. On the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the grand statue of Shri Ram at Mantralayam, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister expressed his respect for the Mathadhish of the Math, the most respected Saint Madhvacharya, Saint Raghavendra Swami and the very rich Vaishnava tradition of the South and all its saints.
