US President Joe Biden on Monday welcomed the initiative to extend the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas for two more days. After the release of 11 more hostages by Hamas on the fourth day of the ceasefire, President Biden said that so far more than 50 hostages have been released and all have returned to their families.

US President Joe Biden on Monday welcomed the initiative to extend the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas for two more days. News agency ANI has given this information quoting The Times of Israel. President Biden said in a statement that he remains committed to ensuring the release of all hostages held by Hamas so that the agreement reached through US mediation and diplomacy can yield a successful outcome.

At the same time, after the release of 11 more hostages by Hamas on the fourth day of the ceasefire, President Biden said that so far more than 50 hostages have been released and all have returned to their families. He said the hostages released by Hamas included children, their mothers and grandmothers. He said that the ceasefire will allow humanitarian aid to reach innocent victims in the Gaza Strip.

He said the United States is continuing its efforts to increase humanitarian assistance to Gaza and take full advantage of the ceasefire to build a future of peace and dignity for the Palestinian people. He thanked the leaders of Qatar and Egypt for their support regarding the extended ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

It is known that the ceasefire in Gaza Strip has been extended for two more days, now it will remain in effect till Wednesday. Qatar's Foreign Ministry, which is mediating, has announced this, while Hamas has confirmed it and given credit to Qatar and Egypt for increasing the ceasefire. Earlier, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the extremist organization Hamas was ending on Monday.
